"The Voice" semi-finalist Lavrans Svendsen has struggled with illness and ID theft.

On Friday, Lavrans Svendsen (22) will be on stage in "The Voice" semi-final.

But the fact that he should be on stage at all is quite incredible. Svendsen has been down for the count due to illness this week.

- I got a sore throat either Sunday or Monday night, he says to TV2.

- I woke up with a very sore throat and feeling feverish. I was then going to Oslo to record for Spotify, and I thought: "Shit, what am I going to do now?".

With a fever and a sore throat, most people would have stayed at home in bed, but Svendsen gritted his teeth and set himself the goal of getting through the day in one piece. He swallowed a couple of pain-relieving tablets and set off from Fredrikstad towards the capital.

- Fortunately, it went well, but I got very tired from it - and the next day I got much worse, with a high fever.

- I have eaten huge amounts of garlic. At least one garlic a day. A whole, raw garlic. It doesn't taste good, but it had to be done. And ginger, chilli, honey and tea – and lots of rest. I have avoided the sun, and only been inside.

The unusual diet and all the rest have borne fruit. When TV2 meets him on Thursday morning, the 22-year-old from Fredrikstad is in better shape than he has been all week.

- It's actually quite good, but I sweated quite a bit last night. It was not good. But I feel good now. I haven't taken any painkillers for a while. I wouldn't say I have any sense of fever, but I'm a little sluggish. The throat does not hurt, but it is a little sore.

In Friday's semi-final, Svendsen will fight for "The Voice" final place against Nola Kvarme (16), Tor Vidar Rennestraum (37), Eirik Zakariassen (23), Inger Lise Hope (34) and Arthur Stulien (28).

In the worst case scenario, the illness could mean that he was unable to complete the semi-final at Telenor Arena.

- Yes, of course. But I've been lucky, because I've had a sore throat, but it hasn't affected my voice. It has been more in the ears, he says as his index finger moves from the left ear, further up the head.

Exposed to ID theft on Facebook

Illness is not the only thing that has affected his week in a negative way. Recently, he was made aware of a fake Facebook profile pretending to be him.

Fredriksstad Blad first wrote about the Facebook ID theft.

Svendsen was notified by an aunt, who had noticed that "Lavrans Svendsen" had left many comments on Fredriksstad Blad's Facebook page.

- "Have I done it?", I thought. I try not to use social media as much, because it takes up too much time. But soon after, my brother said that someone has created a fake profile that is me. Then I got a bit of a shock.

There was an article about Svendsen in particular, on which the fake profile commented a lot, but the posts were not of the nasty kind. Mainly it was "Thank you fan" or "Thank you friend", and calls to vote for him.

- I would not ask anyone to vote and support me, nor would I comment "thank you, dammit". It feels impersonal and arrogant, as I see it. So I don't know what the intent of the user is, but I reported it and put it away pretty quickly. I don't know if the profile has been removed. If it hasn't been removed, I hope people know it's not me, he says with a laugh.
